PL | Senior Product Designer | Amsterdam | 85k | Revolutionize Capital Markets Infrastructure

Or significant experience working in a startup in the Netherlands? If so, read on. We are recruiting for a Senior Product Designer for our client in Amsterdam.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our team and help enhance the quality, reliability, and performance of our platform. Our system architecture includes multiple components designed to meet the needs of the complex capital markets sector. Our Securities Lending workflows involve pre-trade, trade matching, ongoing lifecycle management, reporting, and multiple connectivity layers and endpoints. We have developed a robust UI and an API layer for direct server-to-server integration. You will collaborate closely with our engineering and business teams to address internal and external infrastructure needs. We are looking for someone passionate about delivering a high-quality customer experience and anticipating the demands of a rapidly scaling and complex ecosystem.

Our tech stack: Vuejs, Golang, GCP, Kubernetes.

In this fast-paced startup environment, you'll:

  • Spearhead the design process for our B2B trading software, leading the journey from user research to a polished, user-friendly interface.
  • Conduct user research specifically focused on the needs of B2B traders in the US markets, translating insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Craft intuitive and user-centric UI designs that prioritize efficiency and clarity, ensuring a seamless user experience for B2B trading activities.
  • Develop high-fidelity prototypes for user testing and iterate based on feedback to optimize the functionality and usability of the platform.
  • Work shoulder-to-shoulder with product managers to define product requirements, user stories, and feature roadmaps specifically catering to the B2B trading landscape within the US. You'll leverage your design expertise to inform product decisions and ensure the final product aligns with user needs and business goals.
  • Stay ahead of the curve on design trends and best practices relevant to financial technology (FinTech) and B2B trading software solutions.

To thrive in this role, you'll possess:

  • 7+ years of experience as a product designer or a similar role.
  • Working experience within a startup that experienced rapid growth and supported a large diverse user base OR working experience within capital markets infrastructure, including exchanges, trading venues, and clearance and settlement ecosystems.
  • Knowledge of equity, fixed income, and derivatives products and trading strategies.
  • Understanding of financing markets and underlying workflows.
  • Understanding of execution systems and related components such as smart order routers and algorithmic trading products
  • A strong portfolio showcasing your design skills and process, with a focus on B2B trading software interfaces
  • Proven experience with user research methodologies (user interviews, usability testing, surveys) tailored to understand the needs of B2B traders.
  • Mastery of design tools like Figma, Sketch, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (engineering, product management, marketing).
  • A deep understanding of user-centered design principles and their application to B2B software.
  • Solid grasp of product management fundamentals such as product strategy, roadmaps, and user stories, with a focus on B2B products.
  • Experience working with trading software as a Product designer 
  • A passion for financial technology and a desire to create innovative solutions for the B2B trading landscape in the US.
